About THE CATALYST

THE CATALYST is the official semestral publication of the Society of English Majors at the University of Caloocan City, North Campus.

As one of the key initiatives for the school year 2023-24, the BSE-ENG Council is committed to recognizing the role of teachers as crucial drivers of truth. Hence, this initiative aims to assist English majors in effectively delivering and disseminating important information about events in their community.

Specifically, THE CATALYST advocates for the following goals:
  1. To provide Sophomore students, who are enrolled in the Campus Journalism course this second semester, with adequate space to showcase their skills in the field of journalism;
  2. To expose Freshman students early on to the significance of Campus Journalism and its connection to becoming individuals and educators committed to truth;
  3. To offer the entire Society an appropriate platform to share their opinions and creative works on relevant topics and issues. THE CATALYST strongly supports freedom of speech as a means to pursue and promote truth; and
  4. To promote the ideals of Campus Journalism as an essential avenue to strengthen ethical values, encourage critical thinking, and develop Filipino youth's moral and personal identity.
