ENGLISH WEEK 2024 | Quiz Bee '24 brings true unity to action

"Intelligence creates wonders, but collaboration turns dreams into actions. When these two elements are paired, they become perfect catalysts for excellence." This was the mantra embodied by English majors as they enthusiastically participated in the Quiz Bee Competition on 13 November in Room 107.

Spearheaded by Ms. Kimberly Hao, the Council's Secretary, twenty-two (22) students from BSE-ENG and BSE-EngChi programs of various year levels attended the competition. They were divided into seven groups, each consisting of a freshman, a sophomore, and a junior.

The event facilitators prepared a challenging set of questions divided into three levels. Each question was aligned with a course that the students were currently taking, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all participants to take charge.

As the quiz progressed, the questions became increasingly difficult. However, it was the spirit of collaboration that made it easier to tackle the challenges. In the end, the team of Mr. Daryll Eduarte (BSE-ENG 1A), Ms. Khim Jewel Caoili (BSE-ENG 2A), and Mx. Zyron Oliveros (BSE-ENG 3B) clinched a narrow victory.

The event was not only an opportunity for these majors to learn advanced topics and review past material, but it also allowed them to experience the true essence of cooperation, which yields significant benefits. This is genuine unity—one that elevates people to greater heights.
