Rest Room, more than a story that reflects society and inner conflicts, is a masterpiece made by a family's collaboration that has been united by passion and intricacy.
Multiple teams and departments, two sections, one production. COIIAB Production brought the Rest Room into reality last November 24, 2024. The musical play delivered all the messages and feelings the story craved to embody.
Rest Room is a story about one room that can only be discovered by people who need intense rest. The sheets, the bed covers, the pillows, and the mattress offer a slumber that will last forever.
The owner of the room, Clepeo, does not possess the power to play with destiny. He can only watch people die inside the room. Despite the title “God of Healing”, he just bleeds like the others. He is powerless against the curse given by the love he failed to have.
Ada, a babaylan who ceased to function as a healer, met Clepeo during her escape from angry town folks. They fell in love or maybe they did not. Maybe they only loved the idea of being saved by each other. Ada found salvation in Clepeo, but Clepeo seeks for immortality. Something Ada cannot have.
And when trials and errors become too much, desire for immortality becomes a curse too painful to let go of.
Many people already entered the Rest Room but there are only five notable ones that Clepeo can relate to. He cannot help but keep their things in the room because the last moments of their lives left a crack wide open inside him.
Ango is the soldier who fought in war but was never sought by the person he has always loved.
Hermes is the journalist who got paid by different business tycoons and illegal organizations to write false news.
Kamade is a previous wealthy man who met the love of his life on the streets in the form of a man dressed up as a woman.
Flor is the flower that stopped blooming after her huge fight with her girlfriend because of jealousy.
Adephy is the college student who is afraid of tasting the sweetness of life, but got caught up in the bitterness of it.
